This tweet provoked an illuminating discussion about how social media like Tumblr and Twitter ultimately fragment communities more than they unify them. Those platforms aren’t without their benefits, but I agree that they make it very difficult either to preserve conversations or to archive works and commentary. This is a major reason why I prefer blogs and fora like Daddy’s Dollhouse.
