Gulliver’s Travels (1996) – A Voyage to Brobdingnag

For size fetishists, the 1996 Gulliver’s Travels was probably better than could have been expected.

  1. After reading the book 50K times when I was a child, all that mattered to me then was who would play Gulliver. I was not happy with the choice. I watched it when it came out, but there’s never been any chemistry between Ted Danson and me, so I was disappointed. I should reread the book now that I’m an adult, just to see if I feel the same things I felt when I was a child and had no friggin’ clue why the book was so captivating. It’s really infuriating we live in a world where no one explains to little girls there are reasons they feel the way they feel sometimes. Thank you for this reminder/review, Olo.

    1. Again, I am chagrined that my commentary is un-self-consciously written from a male macrophile perspective. I would invite everyone to compile and submit their dream cast for (any Voyage from) Gulliver’s Travels, from any period.
